A Craftcourse Summer

Back in February, my friend Emily and I launched a little venture called Craftcourse to bring fun, crafty times to the ladies (and gentlemen, if so inclined) of Nashville. It seems that since that time my blogging has dropped off drastically. I've given some thought to why that might be (because it wasn't exactly a conscious or deliberate decision that I made), and I realized that what drove my love of DIY blogging was the constant need to be creating fun projects and trying new things.

Because we bring our crafty touch to every Craftcourse party/workshop - whether it be making the sample projects or creating crafty little favors for each event - I've found that Craftcourse sort of fulfills that need for me now. Of course, I don't think I'll ever be done with blogging completely, because I still love sharing certain stuff here and contributing to other great sites (as you'll continue to see).

So anyway, I wanted to share a few pics of some of the ridiculously fun stuff we've been doing with Craftcourse this summer to give you have a peek into what's keeping me so busy.

In June, we hosted the Etsy Craft Party at Nashville's Porter Flea Preview Market where we embroidered historic photos of Nashville. Later in the month, we threw a Crafting with Beyonce party as part of the Skillery's Summer Craft Camp. It was perhaps the most ridiculous but best workshop we've thrown to date!

July was busy! We kicked things off with a Crafts & Craft Brews night at Yazoo, a local Nashville brewery. So much craftiness and so much beer. A perfect combo! Later in the month, we teamed up with Hester & Cook Design Group (the geniuses behind CAKE vintage and Kitchen Papers) to not only throw a workshop in their company store right here in Nashville but to also create a crafty window display using their new paper ribbons.

August kept us busy too! We hosted another Craft & Craft Brews night (this time at Fat Bottom). We threw a Freestyle Craftin' party at the Skillery to give folks unfettered access to our ridiculous stockpile of supplies. We did a fruit punch theme, had handmade favors, gave away gift certificates from Darby Smart, and even crowned a Miss Craftcourse...because that's how we roll. This week, we're coming off a 2-night run at Nashville's Kayce Hughes store featuring Kayce Hughes herself and the cutest monogrammed, decoupage glass trays.

Whew.

And if that wasn't enough, we've already got a couple of great things on the schedule for September -- including a floral workshop at Hester & Cook with our friend and floral designer Amanda Jerkins and a Cat Lady Craft Night at the Skillery with local makers Ivy and Kind. If you're in the Nashville area, check out our events page here!
