I'm staying in a beach house this week on St. George Island in Florida. And you know what that means, right? Rattan and wicker furniture as far as the eye can see. I'll admit that there's actually some pretty nice pieces in our house, but as these things usually go in vacation rentals, the shear quantity of the rattan and wicker (combined with the obligatory sea shells, coral, fish, and really anything that might be mistaken for a beach/tropical motif) is downright overwhelming...and dare I say, tacky. Today, however, I'm rounding up some rattan and wicker done well just to remind myself that, although it's a risky material, it can in fact be done well. What are your thoughts on rattan and wicker?
