My Color Resolution Realized

Dramatic Angles

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my plans to add some dramatic black paint to my bedroom reading nook. I had narrowed it down to a few options. In the end, the black was adventurous enough on its own, so I nixed the idea of a pattern and went with a couple of plain black accent walls.

I used Sherwin-Williams' matte Emerald paint in Tricorn Black. It's a beautiful black with a soft, velvety finish. ...Man oh man, is black paint dramatic?! I do love the way that it really shows off those angles, but I think it's going to take a few more days to fully get used to. Read on for more pics and to share your thoughts.

Because parts of the bedroom are still a bit unfinished, I haven't really shared a pulled back shot of the nook. If there were any doubts, this pic should show you how ridiculously nookish this nook is. The nookiest nook that ever was.

One day, I'm going to share all the details of that amazing dresser you see to the left there. It's one of my antiquing finds, and I'm pretty much obsessed with it.

If so, share your color resolution on Instagram or Twitter tagged with #mycolorresolution for a chance to win your own paint and supplies from Sherwin-Williams. Full details here.

Disclaimer: I received some free paint and supplies from Sherwin-Williams for sharing and making my color resolution a reality (yay!). All opinions are my own.

  1. Looks so good! The close up of the nook makes the black wall look quite dramatic, but once you pull back the view it's actually quite subtle and helps break up the spaces perfectly
