Doozy Shmoozy

This week was a doozy. For one, I freakin' turned 30. Wha?!!! The number itself kind of blows my mind. Even so, I still just feel like Mandy. No life lists or self-reflection needed or anything.

But what may be even more of a doozy than turning 30 percent of a century old is that we freakin' bought a house...in Nashville. That's right. Not only are we movin' on up from 600 square feet, we're movin' on out of our nation's capital!

When I moved here 8 years ago next Thursday, I said no more than 5 years. What's even more mind boggling about my overstay is that I started dating and ultimately married a guy from my own hometown here in DC, and we still somehow managed to stay longer than either of us ever planned. The longer we stayed, the harder moving seemed. And let me tell you, after you've acquired a spouse, property, and a relatively successful career (in public policy, no less --a quintessentially DC career) picking up and moving ain't easy. Thus explains my blog absence, no?

Anyway, the actual move is still at least a month away. Today, I'm going to leave you with a shot of our new little house -- bushy bushes, dirty brick, broken window box, chipped paint, and all. I'll be back very soon with more shots -- shots that we shall call the "before" pictures. Until then, have a great weekend!

    1. You won't believe this, but I definitely printed off a pic of your kitchen for meeting with kitchen planners last weekend. So, yeah, don't get all creeped out when that comes up on the blog. :/
