My Dream Workspace | The Basics

So...the longer that we live in our 603 square foot wonderland and the more involved that I find myself in this DIY business, the more and harder that I long for an actual workspace.  I shared what I was working with about two and a half years ago.  Things improved once I got myself a murphy desk, but the reality remains that our living room serves as my primary workspace and that's a challenge.  So, yeah, I do my fair share of day dreaming about my ideal workspace.  Over the next few weeks, I'll be building and sharing with you my dream workspace, because...why not?!

This week, I'm sharing the building blocks of my dream workspace.

Read on for the details.

I want a calm, inspiring space to kick my creative sensibilities into gear without completely overloading my senses.  I also want a touch of femininity but with some clean, modern lines.

My biggest struggle now is finding a white backdrop for photographing my projects.  I'm basically limited to a piece of white foam board, which has obvious size limitations.  So I want to keep the walls white, with the exception of one feature wall that I'd cover in something bold but light like Joy Cho's Petal Pusher floral wallpaper in white and gold.  I'd keep the windows light with something shear but playful, and glam it with some shmancy hardware.

As for actually getting work done, I want a set of sleek and simple white desks. I'd throw in some contrast with a classically-designed black wooden chair.  Add in some gold accessories, and ground it all with a bold black and white striped rug.

Next week, I think I'll share a little of my ideal storage for my dream workspace.

What about you?  Do you dream of...and even plan out...ideal home spaces for yourself?  Or am I crazy?!
