Try This: Leather Heart Coin Purse
Is it too early for hearts? Spoiler alert: The answer is a decided no. It is never too early...or late...for hearts. And this is the perfect heart project because it only takes about 5 minutes.
Read on for the easy step-by-step.
MATERIALS: 2 Leather Hearts*, Button Stud Closure, Glue, Hole Punch, Craft Knife
*I picked up my pre-cut red leather hearts on my recent trip to Tokyo. You can buy your own, un-dyed pre-cut hearts online, or easily cut out your own from craft leather. I found several, affordable pieces of red leather remnants from Etsy sellers like this one. If you do cut your own, my hearts are each about 3" tall.
ONE: On the back of each heart, apply a small amount of glue along the perimeter leaving an opening about 2" long unglued. As shown, the glue should be applied as mirror images of one another since you're going to sandwich them together.
TWO: Stick the hearts together, and punch a hole through both hearts in the middle of the unglued opening.
THREE: On the front heart, use a craft knife or box cutter to cut a small slit below the hole.
FOUR: Screw the button stud closure on through the hole in the back heart. Enjoy!
